A Registered Clinical Counsellor with over a decade of practice, specializing in helping individuals gain perspective, self-understanding, and overcome challenges such as anxiety, depression, and past trauma.
I was born in Tehran Iran, but moved to Vancouver in 1987 and have had the privilege of calling Vancouver my home for the last 35 years. I am cognisant of how culture plays a role in our views of ourselves and those around us and use my experiences in my practice.
Prior to working as a therapist, I had a rewarding career in the field of training and development for ten years. During this time, I learned a great deal about coaching, motivation, effective communication, and the process in which we learn and grow as individuals. I worked with various corporations designing and implementing programs to help build effective leaders and strong teams.
Following my time in the corporate world, I decided to pursue my goal of becoming a clinical counsellor and have been a practicing therapist for the last 10 years. Academically, I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University.
*Registered Clinical Counsellors hold a master's degree, specialized training, and are covered by most extended health plans.
At this time I do not accept ICBC referrals
The biggest predictor of success in therapy is the relationship between the client and counsellor. With this in mind, I strive to foster a sense of feeling seen, heard and accepted in each of my sessions. Within these conditions of safety and support, my clients can confront difficult emotions to begin the innate healing journey. I work with individuals who present a range of struggles with anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, grief, and relationship difficulties.
50 Minutes Session: $150
75 Minutes Session: $190
Couples or relationship counselling is geared towards individuals who are having difficulties with communication, a loss of closeness, connection, intimacy, or trust. I understand that you did not start your relationship with arguing, blaming, emotional distance, and betrayal, but had hope, excitement, and loving feelings. Through therapy, I hope to reintroduce these feelings. Open to couples, families, LGBTQ2S+, and open/polyam/CNM relationships.
50 Minutes Session: $180
75 Minutes Session: $220
You'll embark on a journey of self-discovery, supported by a foundation of trust and respect.
Listening to both of you share your challenges and evaluating the dynamics and habits that have developed between you. This initial step in relationship counseling aims to help us gain insight into the path forward together.
Couples often establish typical ways of handling disappointments and differences, leading to predictable patterns. Identifying these patterns helps us reshape your responses for positive change in your relationship.
Relationship challenges often stem from poor communication, hindered by emotional reactions. Therapy addresses this by managing responses to break cycles of blame, defense, and avoidance, teaching essential relational skills absent in us.
Our family upbringing shapes our relationship patterns. Unhealthy habits often stem from family lessons, leading to emotional scars. These scars make us cautious in relationships. To change, we must recognize and address these influences.
Guiding you towards personal growth by clarifying your beliefs and values, fostering self-compassion and resilience. In a compassionate and culturally informed environment, we'll work together to address anxiety, depression, trauma, and family dynamics, tailoring our approach to your needs.
My priority is to guide you by clarifying your beliefs and values. This helps you discover your authentic self and live more fully. We all have the capacity to overcome challenges and rewrite our stories. The healing journey fosters awareness, insight, and confidence. Through collaboration and practice, you develop self-compassion and wholeness, connecting with your body's sensations.
When working with me, expect respect, care, and compassion. I create trust and security, enabling exploration of your inner world. My practice is trauma and culture informed, serving diverse populations. I work with individuals, couples, and families. Using a client-centered, strengths-based approach, I help you tap into determination, resilience, and internal resources.
Starting therapy can be daunting, but I aim to make it understandable and accessible to you. The approach we take may range from structured techniques for correcting thoughts and behaviors to becoming attuned to your mind and body. My goal is to provide a supportive and adaptable framework for your personal growth and healing journey.
